We repair and replace intercoms and buzzers, so tenants can buzz guests in from upstairs.
What do you fix?
We work on the whole entry: the panel at the front door, the stations in each apartment, the wiring between them, and the electric strike or lock that opens the door when someone buzzes. Older buildings uptown often have systems that have been patched for years, and we sort out what is actually wrong.
Can you replace an old name-strip panel?
Yes. We take out old buzzer panels with paper name strips and set in new Comelit panels, including touch screen models with a camera, fitted neatly into the old brick or stone beside the door. We work with Akuvox too, and we tell you what a new panel needs from the wiring already in the building.
When do people call us for this?
- The buzzer rings upstairs, but the door does not open.
- One apartment cannot hear the visitor, or the visitor cannot hear them.
- The panel at the front door is broken or worn out.
- A building wants to replace an old system.
- Deliveries keep getting stuck at the front door.
Should I repair it or replace it?
If the panel and wiring are in good shape, a repair is often enough. If parts are no longer made for your system, a new one makes more sense. We give you both options when both are real.
How do I get a quote?
Call us, or text a photo of the panel at the front door and one apartment station. You get a written quote before any work starts.
How does the visit go?
We come out with the parts your call and your photo point to. Before we touch anything, we show you what is worn or broken and what we plan to do. When the work is done, we test every lock and key with you before we leave.
Questions we get
Can a new intercom work with fobs?
Yes. Many new panels work with a fob reader, so residents use a fob and guests buzz up.
Do you work with landlords and supers?
Yes. We are glad to go through the building with your super, manager, or landlord.
